What to expect when you attend Troy First:

Preaching
We emphasize the importance of God's Word and seek to establish everything we do on His instruction.  For this reason, you'll find Biblical preaching at the heart of every service.  Preaching is delving into scripture with an emphasis on the application of truth and revealing the heart of God.  Pastor Richie has a way of delivering profound scriptural truth with a gentle, conversational tone.  Further, when you come, prepare to be challenged, for, while we are sensitive to the struggles people face in today's difficult times, we don't believe in softening the truth.  In fact, we believe the purity found in the unfiltered truth is the answer to today's challenges.

Worship
God has given His children a priestly ministry, meaning, because of the ministry of Christ to His church, we are privileged to come freely into His presence.  That God would honor us in this way is a picture of His overwhelmingly abundant grace.  With this in mind, we seek to make our worship music as excellent as possible.  Expect to hear a praise team and choir supported by a band with guitars, piano, and drums.  We sing a blend of modern worship songs and more traditional hymns as we, as holistic worshipers, seek to give an offering that is emotionally, physically, and intellectually balanced.

Bible Study
We believe fellowship and biblical understanding is vital to the Christian life.  Therefore, we have many gifted teachers who guide our people through scripture with an emphasis on scriptural understanding and revealing the mind of God.  Our church provides age-appropriate small groups for everyone who comes to our church in which you can expect bible study, encouragement, prayer support, and genuine fellowship.  Classes are available during all three services on Sunday mornings.

Attire
You will see many people wearing their Sunday best and others in jeans.  While there is something to be said for bringing your best to God on every level, we believe God looks at the heart above all else.  With this in mind, come just as you are, have a cup of coffee from our coffee bar, and the enjoy the worship and fellowship you will find at Troy First.
