Troy First is a Christ centered loving Church located in the heart of Lincoln County, in Troy, MO.  Troy is a diverse community full of ministry opportunities, and one of the fastest growing areas in Missouri!  We desire to worship Jesus Christ in Spirit and truth, bowing before Him in celebration and surrender. Knowing Real Joy

How would you like to sit down with someone who was with Jesus, as close if not closer to Jesus than anybody?  We have that opportunity the next few Sunday mornings as we travel through the amazing letter of John the Apostle.  Down through the years artists have depicted John as soft and womanly.  They must have been on something.  They didn't get that view of the "son of thunder" from the Bible.  True, he became known as the "Apostle of Love" because of the changes Christ made in his life.  But this was no softy.  He was tough and courageous.  He was exiled for his faith.  He faithfully wrote of Christ.  He lovingly challenges us with some of the clearest and most awful warnings in Scripture concerning sin.

1 John teaches us about having a fellowship with Christ that produces a joy that won't quit.  Four things will happen in your life as we go through 1 John.

1. A Joy that is "full".
2. A forgiveness that is supernatural.
3. A holiness that is real.
4. An assurance that God is with you.

John called himself the "disciple whom Jesus loved."  He knew some things about Jesus we need to know.  By the time we finish going through this amazing letter you are going to be able to say with humble confidence - with a tender and grateful heart - with both eyes firmly fixed on the life and love of Christ - "I'm the person Jesus loves."
